The Anesthesia Monitoring Technician, working very closely with the Anesthesiologist, Certified Nurse Anesthetist, Surgeon and Perfusionist, assists in providing anesthesia care to patients of all ages. They are directly responsible for calibration, operation, daily maintenance and general upkeep of complex capital equipment in the Anesthesia department. The Anesthesia Monitoring Technician monitors and maintains supply inventory
1) Knowledge of patient care standards and practices in a surgical environment normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, course work in physiology and biological sciences, current CPR certification and completion of a hospital based ECG class within two months of hire date. An Associate Degree in a related healthcare field and classes in ECG interpretation beneficial
2) Previous experience as a surgical technician in an acute care setting or operating room environment necessary to enhance and develop skills, with experience in pressure monitoring, Cath Lab or anesthesia beneficial
3) Active Wisconsin licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or OR Tech certification beneficial.
